Metal Trees & A Day Together

John had a day off today. We went to Cook Forest because some of the little specialty shops in that area will be closing soon for the season. In "The Pickle Barrel" I spotted this neat metal sculpture of winter trees along a fence line-just had to have it! I hung it up in my office as soon as I got back home.

What a beautiful day! Low humidity, 68 degrees and a beautiful sky. The area was pretty much deserted since most of the tourists have packed up and left for the year. We'd really like to walk some of the trails in another month when the Fall colors will be at their peak.

Really weird story...John and I stopped in to Bark Avenue on the way back home to schedule an appointment for Big Yellow Dog, but the store was now a party store and no longer a groomer. The new owner told us that the previous owners packed up everything in the middle of the night and left-along with some dogs they were boarding! She heard that, in addition to their business, they also left their rented home. They always seemed like such nice people. I always love a mystery; wonder what they're running from? Anyway, that's John trying on a Steeler hat from the new store's Steeler section. (I talked him out of buying it!)
